How can we rethink notions of territory and living together when identity is fragmented, when a person becomes a character in a story that is theirs and yet is somehow beyond them? By continually playing the role we know best, that of our own personality, we reduce our being to mere mannerisms or a costume and lose out on a whole multitude of possibilities that we would perhaps rather not enter into dialogue with. For this piece it is a question of activating those sombre zones. If we imagine that a person is not one but rather a multitude of characters fighting to express themselves, how can we re-inhabit the sombre zones we have abandoned or ignored?
